Most people ring a tree company once or twice in their life, usually because something has already gone wrong, and they have no way of telling a good job from a bad one until years later. That is an uncomfortable position to be in.

So the first thing worth doing is looking at the tree and saying honestly what it needs. Sometimes that is a removal. More often it is deadwood out and a crown thinned, and sometimes it is nothing at all for another ten years.
